GTM's anniversary car, the 40TR (track and road) will be launched at Autosport 2008 to celebrate 40 years of GTM Cars. The vehicle concept has developed significantly since its first outing in 2007 to ensure it can meet the requirements for both track and road use. Initially offered as a track only car, the 40TR represents minimalist motoring, but explosive performance. Standard fit is a 220bhp JDM Honda Civic Type R engine offering 0-60 performance of 4.5 seconds* and a top speed of 150 mph*.
Structurally the 40TR uses a composite monocoque based on the Spyder chassis, providing the same F1 type approach to producing a super stiff and strong tub. This is enhanced by an exposed aluminium superstructure which is both beautiful and functional, providing occupant protection from side impacts.

Styling and engineering support from Stadco Engineering, based in Coventry has developed the car further. Stadco have been responsible for many high profile vehicles, such as the Ford GT40 and are currently suppliers to Aston Martin among others.
Power is delivered by a 6 speed Honda gearbox with a limited slip differential to ensure the power can be applied to the track. The full vehicle specifications will be posted shortly along with images from the Autosport launch.
The 40TR is currently available to order, with deposits being taken. The 40TR will undergo stringent testing over the coming months to ensure reliability before vehicles are delivered to customers in April 2008. Prices are yet to be confirmed, but are expected to start at £9,000 inc. VAT for a self build kit requiring donor components, through to £19,000 for a full factory built car.
